Romans 13:1, 2 (MSG) reads: “Be a good citizen. All governments are under God. Insofar as there is peace and order, it’s God’s order. So live responsibly as a citizen. If you’re irresponsible to the state, then you’re irresponsible with God, and God will hold you responsible.”
On Wednesday night, Governor Gavin Newsom signed an Executive Order instructing “Californians to cancel or postpone gatherings of 250 or more people statewide.” On Thursday, he clarified that this directive was mandatory. In compliance with this order, the Board of COPIM has chosen to hold Online Services at 8 a.m. & 11:00 a.m. using our Virtual Church (www.lifestream.tv/copimlive/) as well as Facebook Live for all remaining Sunday Services in March. All other Sunday meetings and/or plans are cancelled for the month of March. This does NOT affect our Bible Studies on Wednesday. Bible Study will proceed as scheduled (12:00 p.m. & 7:00 p.m.).
While we are people of faith, we must follow the Bible. Clearly, Romans 13 tells us to follow the orders of our government. Therefore, we have made this very difficult decision and we ask for your understanding as we navigate through this challenging season. I still believe that this is the year of Uncommon Favor. I simply realize just how “uncommon” this favor is.
